Types of bodywork repairs

At KH Watson Car Body Repair Specialists we can accommodate all your car body repairs needs including minor dents, bumper scuffs, scratches, wheel arch repair, stone chips, vandal damage, panel replacement, major accident damage, insurance repairs and much more.

Dent Repair

It involves accessing the back of the dent and gently pushing it back to its original shape using specialised tools. For larger dents or damaged paint, filling and repainting might be necessary.

(1)

Scratch Repair

Superficial scratches that don't penetrate the paint can often be buffed out. Deeper scratches may require sanding, application of a matching paint, and finishing with a clear coat to restore the area seamlessly with the rest of the body.

(2)

Accident Repair

This involves multiple steps, depending on the extent of the damage. It can include realigning the chassis, replacing damaged body parts, and extensive bodywork to repair dents and scratches. The goal is to restore the vehicle to its pre-accident condition, both functionally and aesthetically.

(3)

Corrosion Repair

The affected area is thoroughly cleaned to remove all rust. Then, any damage is repaired, which might involve cutting out and replacing severely corroded metal. Finally, the area is repainted to match the original color and finish of the car.

(4)

Bumper scuffs

Repairing bumper scuffs typically involves sanding the damaged area, filling if necessary, and then repainting and blending the paint to match the bumper's original finish. This process can vary slightly depending on the material of the bumper.

(5)

Stone Chips

Small stone chips are cleaned and then filled with a matching paint to prevent rust and blend with the surrounding area. For larger chips, more extensive preparation may be needed before applying the paint and clear coat.
